Company History:

In 1919 John Ernst founded J. 0. Ernst Dependable Motor Trucking. His company provided service between the cities of Long Beach and Los Angeles. At that time all trucking companies came under the direction of the Railroad Commission. They had a stranglehold on almost all merchandise that was moved between cities in California. John worked for a pharmacy as a delivery agent and realized there was a growing need for a local delivery service. He signed up approximately 15 pharmacies to pick up and deliver their goods. During his second year of service he started hauling for the Upjohn Company. Within 5 years he was hauling for 80 percent of all the pharmacy warehouses in the Los Angeles Area.

Our company still services The Upjohn Company in its new form as Pharmacia and Upjohn Inc. We are the only company that has served them for over 75 continuous years. We have also served Merck and Company for over 65 continuous years.

Today we deliver for 600 customers with overnight service in Southern California. We opened our first warehouse in 1971. We now have a building in City of Industry with over 250,000 square feet and we serve over 74 customers. Our warehouses are tilt slab concrete, with a 6,000 gpm sprinkler system. We have roll clamps, slip sheets, container clamps, and regular fork lift for pallet storage and movement.
